Medical Explorers
Local high school students interested in health careers have a unique opportunity at Pekin Hospital. Teaming with the W.D. Boyce Council and Boy Scouts of America, Pekin Hospital offers a Medical Explorers Post in Tazewell County.
The Explorers program is open to young men and women are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old who are interesting in learning more aobut health careers. The program's goal is to offer exposure to the multidimensional aspects of occupations in health. Medical Explorers also offers students the opportunity to receive hands-on, work-related experience and to explore careers they may never have considered before.
The group usually meets monthly at Pekin Hospital on the third Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). Meetings include a variety of speakers, hands-on activities, tours and more.
